Why I Write for My Mobile Home Investing Business

why i write about my mobile home investing business

I’m going to shift gears today and talk about something that I’ve been doing for a very long time. And that is writing. In both my business life. As well as my personal life.

Why do I write?

From the beginning of my real estate investing career, I’ve been writing. Not just digitally on this blog. But by hand in journals and notebooks. In fact, I’ve got stacks and stacks of them sitting in drawers and on my bookshelf. So, why write?

For me, writing allows me to get my thoughts and ideas out on paper. It allows me to reflect on my experiences, both business and personal. I can see where I’m going and why or why not I haven’t gotten to my goals.

Writing is an exercise that takes me to a special place. Away from all the noise. Where I can sit down and think. And this is important to do…whether it be personal or business.

What has writing done for me?

Starting this blog back in 2007 fueled my need to write. Not just for myself. But to share what I’ve learned through mobile home investing with the world.

It wasn’t enough for me to just write about my experiences alone. I took it a step further by sending group emails to family and friends about my mobile home investing adventures. Though it was starting the blog that really helped me to hone in on the importance of sharing what I write online.

Writing allowed me to come out with my first book. And let me tell you, it wasn’t just the final product where I wrote. I had many brainstorming sessions, drafts written (and rewritten!) down on paper using good old fashioned notebooks and pens. Before anything was written into my word processing program on my computer.

Writing helped me to become a better real estate investor. By taking the time to write about my experiences and reflect (both in journals and on this blog), I was able to see what worked and what didn’t work in my mobile home investing business. Both the successes and the failures. And it helped get me through not only the good times, but the bad times as well. Without these writing exercises, I may not be where I am today.

Writing allowed me to start a podcast and become a better speaker. Without my background and experience as a writer, it would be very hard for me to do the podcast and come up with interesting and educational (as well as entertaining!) content on a regular basis.

Writing has allowed me to help others by sharing my real estate investing stories through interviews and by writing for other publications. It has helped me to become the #1 Writer for Mobile Homes on Quora.

Writing is my life. And has helped shape who I am now: the past, present, and future. Even when I take a break from writing, I find myself going back to it. Time and time again. Without writing, I’d be lost.

What can writing do for you?

So what can writing do for you? As a real estate investor. And mobile home investor.

Even if you’re not a writer (or enjoy writing), putting your thoughts down on paper using a good old pen and notebook will do wonders for you. In your business life. As well as in your personal one.

When you put pen to paper (making sure to date your entries!), it forces you to think and reflect. There are no right or wrong answers about things to write about. Just write what comes to mind. Allow yourself to freely think and get your ideas and thoughts out first. Unedited. And unscripted. Because, this is how you improve yourself. And allow yourself to grow.

Set aside time to write. Even if you just write for a short period of time. It could be an hour, 30 minutes, or even 15 minutes. You can do it daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. The important thing is that you write on a regular basis. And you’re consistent.

By taking the time to write and reflect on your experiences as a real estate investor (as well as your personal ones), you’ll get yourself away from the noise. And experience self reflection. Which will help you to become a better person. And hopefully get you closer to your goals.

Writing Project

With that being said, I want to introduce my current writing project: my new Amazon store which consists of a catalog of notebooks, journals, planners and other business related books to help real estate investors be more productive.

All of the books are designed by me. Feel free to follow me there to receive the latest updates on new books.

Over the course of the next few months, I’ll be showcasing some of my work here. Some of the listings are still being updated. And, I plan to add ones regularly. So keep coming back!

If you’re ready to take your business to the next level and start writing, be sure to check it out. These books make great gifts. Either for yourself. Or for friends, family, colleagues and other people that you know.

Wrapping It Up

As you can see, writing can help you both in business and in your personal life as well. So what are you waiting for? Get started today!

Let me know what you think. I hope this post and the new store will help you to grow and get to your goals.

That’s about it for now. I’ll be taking off next week for Thanksgiving (can you believe it?). Will be back the following week here.

Have a safe and fun Thanksgiving. Take care!
